WHY DO I NEED TO TETHER MY TOOLS?

The Working at Height regulations 2005 states that “every employer should take suitable and sufficient steps to prevent any persons being struck by any falling material or objects”.
Dropped tools and objects can cause both serious and fatal injuries when working at height. They can also cause significant damage to equipment and structures, costly down time, litigation, fines and damage to your corporate reputation.
Dropped objects are recorded as the second largest cause of workplace deaths.
Many companies and government authorities now require the risk of dropped objects to be eliminated and not just managed.
